The “Trust Fund Amsterdam 2000”
The XIXth ISPRS Congress which was held in July 2000 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, showed a positive financial result. The Local Organising Committee decided in consultation with the ISPRS Council to use this profit to create a “Trust Fund Amsterdam 2000”. This Fund will be administered by The ISPRS Foundation with the aim to grant financial assistance to participants of ISPRS events over a period of 10 years. The Trust Fund Amsterdam 2000 selection committee will consist of the following persons:
•The President of the ISPRS
•The Rector of ITC
•The President of the Geo-Information Netherlands Society
Criteria for applicants:
The criteria which have to be fulfilled in order to receive any financial assistance are as follows:
1.The grants will only be available for participation in ISPRS events: Congress, Symposium or Workshop (that is, those events which have cosponsorship confirmed by the Council or by Trust Fund).
2.Participants should come from developing (ODA) countries or countries in transition
3.The participants have no (insufficient) funds from other sources to support their participation
4.Participants should present a paper or a poster at the event, and
5.A letter of acceptance by ISPRS 2008 organising committee is required.
The Trust Fund Amsterdam 2000 selection committee will test the applications against these criteria and make the final judgment on granting the financial assistance.
Due to the large number of requests and the limited funds available, we may only be able to provide partial funding (instead of complete or total funding) to a limited number of applicants per event. To support as many applicants as possible, those individuals requesting a minimum amount of support and/or evidencing support from their organisation will receive highest priority.
Applications for ISPRS 2008 Congress in Beijing, China from 3-11 July 2008
Grants will now be available for participants of the XXI Congress of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, in Beijing, China, from 3-11 July 2008.
We need to know from each applicant the specific need for financial assistance. Therefore we would need the following information:
•filled out questionnaire
•a detailed budget
•a detailed request for the amount of financial assistance
Please return this information to Ms S. Tempelman by 29 February 2008. This information will assist us in determining priorities.
By 1 April 2008, you will receive written notification from Ms Tempelman whether the committee has granted you any financial assistance, and to which amount.
Financial grants will be given in cash at the ISPRS 2008 Congress in Beijing, China. No payments will be made by the Trust Fund before the Congress, which means that all necessary costs to attend the congress should be paid first, after which you will be (partly) refunded.
