The Local Organizing Committee for ISPRS 2008 Beijing held a liaison meeting with the remote sensing committees of 11 national professional institutions on 5 July 2007 in Beijing.

ISPRS Congress Director Prof. Chen Jun introduced the ISPRS and the progress made in preparation for ISPRS 2008 Beijing to the representatives, mostly Secretaries General, of the 11 remote sensing committees present at the meeting. Showing keen interest and strong wish to support the Congress, these RS experts put forward valuable advice with regard to Congress publicity, nomination of papers, technical visits and exhibition.

The liaison meeting is believed to be a good start for succeeding collaborations between the concerned parties. The 11 remote sensing committees represented at the meeting belong to the following institutions:
